Lactation Consulting (LC) is a type of support provided by a trained professional who helps parents with breastfeeding and bottle feeding. Your Lactation Consultant has specialized training to support families through all stages of feeding. They can help both first-time and experienced parents feel more confident and supported with feeding and offer guidance on topics like latching, milk supply, reducing pain/discomfort, using breast pumps and/or bottles, and navigating feeding challenges such as tongue ties, premature babies, and low weight gain.

Services

  • Hands forming a heart shape on a pregnant belly.

    Prenatal Visit

Perhaps this is your first baby, or maybe breastfeeding was challenging with your first, and you want to start on the right foot. After our meeting, you will leave feeling confident and prepared for those precious beginning days. Before delivery colostrum collection will be reviewed, with the option of purchasing a sterile collection and storage kit.

  • A woman breastfeeding a newborn baby.

Initial Visit

You will be given ample time to explain your goals and challenges in feeding your baby. We will reflect on your birth journey and identify factors affecting your feeding relationship. We will set your personalized feeding goals, and I will help you achieve them. You can expect a thorough history taking, a physical assessment, and a supported breastfeeding or bottle-feeding session.

  • Breast milk bottles, a pink knitted heart, and a breast pump on a white surface.

    Pump More Milk

There's more to pumping than what you see on social media. Bring your pump to this session, and you will learn to get the most from your breast-pump, drop by drop!
